Bus Shelters Ford Drive - July 8, 2010
The new bus route along Ford Drive has brought up several concerns regarding the locations of the stops. We feel that as Ford Drive is 70 km along this section and being a truck route for Ford etc. it is felt that a shelter is required to protect those using the system. We got Oakville Transit to identify the location and they are reviewing improvements that can be made. We are pushing for a shelter at these locations and are waiting to hear what solutions will be implemented. Will update when we hear.
Tree Canopy in Clearview
The town has promised to plant the replacement trees this spring thoughout our community. Although this has not yet been completed we are hoping this issue will be completed shortly. As Clearview has the lowest tree canopy in Oakville and the town's commitment to increase tree canopy in Oakville to 40% as well as the pollution in the Oakville Clarkson Airshed and the town's vision of the most liveable town in Canada, we will be made a priority for tree plantings.
This is an important issue and the town needs to address this - your support is needed - every home in Clearview should have received a town tree on the front lawn - if you are missing this tree pls let me know - lmang@cogeco.ca
Car Break-ins - March 24, 2010
Just reminder to all Clearview Residents – be sure to lock your cars at night. The good weather is approaching and the petty thieves are starting up operations again. As in previous years, the thieves target unlocked cars looking for valuables. They do not do damage, probably looking for change. To prevent the theft, lock you cars and homes. Do not leave your garage doors open if you are not there. It only takes a moment to remove your valuables. Lets be proactive not reactive
Clearview Bussing for Secondary Students - update March 2010
The Oakville Beaver published an article a few weeks ago regarding the safety review the board undertook pertaining to the intersection of Royal Windsor and Ford Drive. According to the paper the conclusion of the study was that there are no safety concerns recognized. It is unfortunate that the board did not address the concerns of the committee but there was no support from our trustee to pursue the issue further.
